Kindergarten
Kindergarten is the foundational stage of a child’s formal education. We at Sankara Bala Vidyalaya, provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for the tiny tots. The curriculum is activity-based and focuses on the holistic development of the child.
The entire span of kindergarten is used to develop language and communication skills, cognitive abilities, social and emotional skills through interactive and play-based activities. We also promote the development of fine and gross motor skills through independent and positive learning habits.
More over children are introduced to basic academic concepts such as letters, numbers, shapes, and patterns, with a strong emphasis on early reading skills through phonics. Phonics-based learning helps children recognize letter sounds, blend them to form words, and develop confidence in reading.
Thus, we prepare children for future academic success and help them to move on in life with confidence.
Primary
Our primary sector focuses on fostering strong foundational learning and the holistic development of students. A learner-centred environment is promoted where curiosity, creativity, and confidence are encouraged. Various teaching methodologies such as activity-based learning, interactive discussions, storytelling, and hands-on experiences are incorporated to make learning meaningful and engaging. Equal importance is given to both scholastic and co-scholastic areas so that intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth is nurtured.
The learning outcomes at the primary level include the development of confident, curious, and responsible learners. Strong basic skills are built, and independent thinking is encouraged, along with the development of positive attitudes towards learning.
In the upcoming academic year, greater emphasis will be placed on strengthening conceptual understanding, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities. Opportunities will be created for collaborative learning, project-based activities, and participation in competitions and school events. Co-scholastic activities such as yoga, arts, sports, music, and dance will be integrated regularly to support creativity, well-being, and teamwork, ensuring the holistic development of every child.
Secondary
At our school, Classes 6 to 10 provide a strong secondary level of learning where academic excellence blends with practical understanding and overall development.
Students strengthen their communication skills through English, Hindi, and Tamil, while Science is explored as an exciting journey through Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with experiments and hands-on learning in well-equipped laboratories.
Learning in Social Science connects students to history, geography, government, and economics, helping them understand the world around them. Mathematics becomes engaging through activity-based learning and a dedicated Maths Lab that encourages logical thinking and problem-solving.
Technology is an integral part of learning, with Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, and practical exposure to Python programming developing analytical and future-ready skills.
Art, Music, Dance, Sports, and Yoga ensure balanced growth, fostering creativity, confidence, discipline, and overall development.
Guided by experienced faculty, the school has a strong record of centum scorers and continues to strive for excellence.
Senior Secondary
The Senior Secondary stage at Sree Sankara Bala Vidyalaya is an important phase in a student’s journey. It is a time when students gradually move from guided learning to independent thinking. At this level, learning is not only about completing the syllabus, but also about understanding concepts, making choices, and developing a sense of direction for the future. In these years, students are encouraged to ask questions, think clearly, and express their ideas with confidence. Classrooms become more interactive, where discussions, analysis, and deeper understanding are given importance. Learning goes beyond textbooks and helps students build awareness and perspective.
At SSBV, we believe that education should shape both knowledge and character. Along with academic learning, students are guided to develop discipline, responsibility, and a strong value system. We aim to prepare them not just for examinations, but for life.
The school offers both Science and Commerce streams, keeping in mind the different interests and career goals of students:
- The Science Stream helps students develop logical thinking and analytical skills through subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Computer Science/Informatics Practices. Students are encouraged to understand concepts clearly and apply them in practical situations, which supports them in higher studies and future careers.
- The Commerce Stream focuses on building practical knowledge and clarity of thought through Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, and Mathematics/Informatics Practices. It helps students understand real-life economic systems and prepares them for careers in business, finance, and related fields.
During this stage, students are also guided to understand the opportunities available to them after Class XII. They are encouraged to identify their interests and strengths, and make informed choices regarding higher education and career paths. Whether it is pursuing professional courses, entering specialized fields, or continuing academic studies, students are given the support and clarity needed to move forward with confidence. This stage helps them connect what they learn in school with what they can do in the future.
Equal importance is given to values and character development. Students learn the importance of honesty, respect, and responsibility. They are guided to handle challenges with confidence and develop self-discipline in their daily life. The school also gives importance to physical and overall development. Through sports and co-curricular activities, students learn teamwork, perseverance, and balance, which are essential for their growth.
By the end of Class XII, students not only complete their schooling with marks and certificates, but also grow into confident individuals with clear thinking, strong values, and readiness for the next stage of life. They step into the world prepared to learn further, take responsibility, and contribute meaningfully in whatever path they choose.
At SSBV, education is not just taught. It is understood, experienced, and carried forward in life.
The children are encouraged to be independent, thereby developing their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Activity-based approaches are adapted to make learning an enjoyable part of the child’s life. Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation is done throughout the year as per norms laid by the Central Board. We have a grading system for assessing the overall performance of children. The academic year is divided into 2 terms.
We believe in giving more emphasis on the child’s listening, speaking and reading skills, thereby improving his/her writing skills. Up to VIII standard we offer both Tamil & Hindi as second Language. For class IX 2023-24 batch Tamil is the Mandatory Second language. For the Present X Batch (2023-24) we offer Tamil, Hindi & Sanskrit.
